So I arrived in Salt Lake City, on Sunday night. I came here for the last few weeks of Jeremy Horn's training camp, before he heads to Ireland for his Jan 17 bout for the UFC in Dublin. Jeremy is already in great shape. He should be more than ready when it's time for his fight. I got some rest and came to the gym with Horn on Monday morning. It has been several months since my last trip out here, and a lot has changed. Construction has been completed, and the gym is looking great. There are two levels, with a full wrestling mat on each. Yesterday was my first day training. I felt better than expected. I am sure that this trip will be great for me. We get to the gym about 9am. We train at 10 or 11, then hang out at the gym all day. Fighters train at 7pm, and when that workout is done, we head back to the house to relax, and get some sleep. This week will be spent at the gym, training and relaxing. On Saturday, Jeremy is promoting a fight card in the area. That should be a fun time. I'm looking forward to it. I'll be back next week to talk about the show, and how things are going. |

Beginning of December. Hard to believe it's already been a month since my Sengoku fight. I have had some time to rest, and misbehave, just a little. Had a good workout this morning at McDole's Performance Systems. Feels good to start the week off with a tough workout. This month I'll be busy. And gone, a lot. I leave on the tenth, for Iowa. I wanted to go see the Adrenaline show there, on the 11th. As it turns out, Jeremy Horn will be there at the same time, to train for his Jan 17th UFC fight. I will stay there to train with him for a week or so, before returning to Winnipeg for Christmas. After Christmas, I'll be flying to Utah, to train with Horn again, and stay with him until he flies to Ireland for his fight. After the UFC is over, I plan to stay in Ireland for about a week, being a tourist. I'm sure it will be a good time. And since the weather at home should be very cold, I expect I won't get too homesick. Looking forward to having some fun, and getting in some great training, while I'm gone. Hopefully, I'll be fighting again, in Feb or March. |
