I can't talk much about the details until an official announcement is made, but I have a fight coming op in about three months. I'm already beginning to train for it and feeling good about competing again. Mentally, I'd have liked to have a fight sooner, but my body needed a little more time to heal. My hands are finally strong enough to do some bagwork, and the scars from my recent surgery should be healed up in another week or two. For those that don't know, I had some minor surgery two weeks ago. I had a bulging artery removed from just under the skin near my temple, and some scar tissue taken out of my elbow. All of it was pretty routine, I just need a few more weeks to let the incisions heal before I start grappling again. Things are healing up well and I expect to be back on the mats in two more weeks, maybe less. It's gonna prob be another four weeks til I start sparring again, but that still gives me plenty of time to prepare. My hands were injured in my last fight, two months ago. They continue to improve, even if it's a little slower than I would like. I'm sure that by the end of Dec the injury will be nothing more than a memory. Things are good, I'm losing weight and getting healthy. Today I'm in a pretty positive frame of mind, and looking forward to my next competition. |

This morning I pushed through 5 hard rounds of condition. It was misery, but I'm glad I did it. It's nice to start a week with a tough workout, and know that I'm in much better shape than I expected to be after a whole month off. My hands continue to improve. They feel stronger every week. I expect that in another two or three weeks, I'll begin doing bag work and pad work. Hopefully there's no problems, and I can start sparring before the end of the month. I'm still waiting to get a fight confirmed, but pretty sure I'll have something going on in December. As soon as I know for sure, I'll be sure to let everyone know. |

After a nearly three week road trip, I'm happy to be back home. I had a good vacation, visiting friends and family. Now I'm back in Winnipeg, and already training. I just finished a conditioning workout, and look forward to wrestling practice tomorrow. Hands are still healing up, but I expect them to be back to normal by the end of the month. I'm already able to grapple, so I'll focus on that until I'm feeling strong enough to start striking again. For the next two weeks I'll be helping my team mates at Team Canada MMA prepare for their upcoming fights at the CFC 3 show in Winnipeg. The show looks to be a good one, and I'm excited. After the show, I'll be focusing more on my own training. I am hoping to fight again soon, maybe as early as December. I'll be sure to make an announcement when I've got some more news to share. For now, I just want to focus on getting into great shape, and having fun training. |
